Swarovski & Silicone
Born in the picturesque town of Grasse in the French Alpes-Maritimes on January 6, 1969, Eddy Maniez has emerged as a prominent figure in the world of visual arts. His journey as a self-taught sculptor and plastic artist has made him a unique voice within the artistic community, particularly through his revolutionary approach to sculpture with a technique that brings pointillism to a three-dimensional plane.
Since 2006, and with further development since 2010, Maniez has refined his characteristic method: covering his sculptures with hundreds, if not thousands, of silicone dots. This approach, born purely out of instinct and without prior planning, results in works that are not only visually captivating but also possess a surprisingly soft texture. The addition of Swarovski crystals to many of his sculptures adds an extra dimension of sparkle and sophistication, giving his creations an irresistible appeal.
Maniez's sources of inspiration are as remarkable as his art; his twenty years of experience as a forest ranger have given him a deep connection with nature and its inhabitants. This bond is tangible in his work, which often captures the elegance and grace of animals and marine creatures. His sculpture “Moonfish” symbolizes his artistic breakthrough and commercial success, embodying the essence of his style: soft, rounded forms combined with the dynamic texture of silicone, which gives the piece a lively, almost fluid movement.
Vision XR Gallery is proud to present Eddy Maniez as one of its prominent artists. His works, which transcend the boundaries of traditional sculpture, are a captivating addition to our collection. Each piece by Maniez invites the viewer not only to admire its visual beauty but also to feel its texture and experience its interaction with light, creating an immersive experience that captures the essence of his connection to the natural world.
In the vibrant setting of our gallery, Maniez's enchanting sculptures find a perfect home, standing alongside the work of other distinguished artists. His unique approach to sculptural art makes him an unmissable part of the contemporary art scene, and we invite art lovers to come and discover the depth and beauty of his work in person.
