Eddy Maniez

An artist who captures the softness of nature in sculpture, enriched with the sparkle of Swarovski.

Born in the picturesque Grasse in the French Alpes-Maritimes on January 6, 1969, Eddy Maniez has emerged as a leading figure in the world of visual arts. As a self-taught sculptor and plastic artist, he has developed a unique voice within the artistic community, especially for his revolutionary approach to sculpture that brings pointillism into a three-dimensional realm.

Since 2006, with further refinement since 2010, Maniez has perfected his signature technique: covering his sculptures with hundreds, if not thousands, of silicone dots. This technique, born out of pure instinct and without prior planning, results in works that are not only visually captivating but also have an unexpectedly soft texture. The addition of Swarovski crystals to many of his sculptures adds an extra layer of sparkle and sophistication, giving his creations an irresistible allure.

Maniez draws inspiration from his remarkable background; with twenty years of experience as a forest ranger, he has developed a deep connection with nature and its inhabitants. This bond is evident in his work, which often captures the elegance and grace of animals and marine life. His sculpture Moonfish symbolizes his artistic breakthrough and commercial success, embodying the essence of his style: soft, rounded forms combined with the dynamic texture of silicone, giving the piece a vibrant, almost flowing movement.

With his unique approach to sculptural art, Maniez has become an influential force in the contemporary art scene, and his works transcend the boundaries of traditional sculpture. Each piece by Maniez invites interaction, encouraging the viewer to appreciate not only the visual beauty but also to feel the texture and experience the interplay of light, creating an immersive experience that reflects his profound connection to the natural world.
